Hyperstudio Movie

This term we worked together as a class to make one music video. We had to take a line from our song and think carefully about what it meant then animate the meaning. All the lines were then put together into this movie. We hope you enjoy it!!

Christmas Fun Day

This year all the students from year 0-4 had a christmas fun day on the field. We played on bounce castles, had ice cream, rode bikes and we even had a turn on the water slide. It was a really fun day!

Merry Christmas Room 30

This year we have been so privileged to have had to opportunity to write to a class in Rotorua. We have really enjoyed reading their letters and writing to them about our lives. I have been wonderful seeing how different people spend their time and learning about what Room 30 are learning.

Film Festival

Yesterday we went to the 10th Annual Manaiakalani Film Festival. It was a wonderful experience and the Room 14 really enjoyed the trip. We left school a little after 10.30 and got to see movies from Pt England School and Tamaki Primary. It was fantastic watching all the children on the big screen.

The Real Story of Peter Pan

This Movie was created as a result of our learning about planet earth and beyond. As part of this topic we focused on how the sun impacted on us. As a result we talked a lot about shadows and how they are made. We decided to take the story of Peter Pan and put a Pt England Twist on it.

I came up with and outline for the story and Kiarah and Angelica wrote the script. The rest of the class performed in the movie. Sadly Lorenzo was away during our filming and Israel choose to take a behind the scenes role however we know that they had a impact on the overall movie.

I am so proud of the Room 14 learners and the effort they put it. A big ups to Jermain our wonderful shadow although you may not see his face we feel his presence in the movie. We hope you enjoyed our movie we certainly enjoyed making it!

Atawhai's Wonderful story about her Holiday

On Wednesday I went to the swimming pools with my Sister, my Brother, Keyana and my cousin. We all got dress into our togs and put clothes on top of our togs. After that we all  hopped into the car and we drove off to the pools. I was so excited. When we got there we were so happy. Then we paid for it, when we paid we got dress in the dressing room. Then we were walking to the kid  pools we went in and it was so  much fun.

Keyana was teaching my sister to swim because she didn’t know how to swim. So I joined in with my brothers was carrying each other on their backs and my Mum she was reading her magazines. So we kept on swimming and swimming for half an hour. Then we had to get out so we did. Then we went to get us pizza it was so yummy. Finally we went back  home and had pizza that was the best day.

Learning Recorder

This is Troy's Recount about learning recorder as a class.

This morning me and my class got to play a recorder once we got a recorder we got into a circle Miss Davis played a little song it was cool she told us that she went to a school and they taught her how to play a recorder.After that Miss Davis taught us how to play C and D note after we learnt Miss Davis get Into partners and go to a table and learn C and D with your partner at a table after we learnt that we went and sat down on the mat.Then we got Into another circle and we went a round the circle playing C 3 times 3.

After that Miss Davis called our color groups to go and put the recorders In a bucket of water. After we did that we lined up outside ready to go to wahi safe when we got there she said she could hear us playing the recorders.

Suzie and the Space Nuts Kiarah

Last Term the Neptune group looked at the Suzzie and the Space Nuts Comic books as part of our Guardians of the Galaxy unit. They then had to make their own comic that showed the beginning, middle and end of each episode. This is Kiarah's Wonderful activity.



This is my suzie and the space nut activity. I had to make the same story but with the important parts in it. I hope you like it.

Animal Fractions Israel

Last week Room 14 learnt about fractions. The Pyramids group learnt to find a whole from given fractions and identify what fraction of the animals were 1 paddock or 2 paddocks.

Kiwi Sport Volleyball

This term Room 14 have Volleyball for Kiwisport. Today our wonderful coach taught us about serving. We learnt to do an underarm and overarm serve. We had a lot of fun at Kiwisport today and can't wait for next week.

Diwali by Hendrix

Making Musical Madness

This week Room 14 made their very own instruments. They used a disposable cup and their choice of materials to make a shaker. On Friday afternoon we used our instruments to make our very own songs about our term theme Musical Madness. Check them out...

Yoland's Recount

Immersion Assembly. This is Yolanda's recount about her favourite parts of immersion assembly last week.

One morning, our teacher said excitedly  that we had to go to the hall.  I walked with my class enthusiastically into the hall then we sat down beautifully. I went to the hall  because there was an assembly to start the new term. When I got in the hall we saw Mr J was  wearing crazy clothes and  they were singing a song.

Our  teachers were doing items.  My favorite movie was team 5s movie. They were pretending to be a family and they watched the movie and were eating  popcorn in a cup the movie was called the Lion king. They changed songs in the movie so they can have the different feelings. They  were scared of the movie then they told there dad to change the movie. Then they were laughing at the movie.

Finally it was finished Mr Burt and Mrs Nua and Mr J were  singing the song for us to leave.

I liked the assembly  when  the teachers of our school when they were doing there Items. I liked when Miss Davis was saying she is going to see bunnies, she wait to Mr Moran then Miss King said to Mr moran, where  are you going to?  Then he said he was going to the beach.  

I like when Mr J and Mr Burt was singing the song.

Duffy Award Israel

What a great start to term 4 we have had in Room 14. Everyone has shown that they have learnt to put in 100% and get their work completed to a high standard. Israel especially has shown us his positive attitude towards learning and completing his learning tasks to a high standard. Awesome start to the term Israel Miss Davis and Room 14 are proud of you!!

Nuiean language week

This week is Nuiean language week! We are so lucky in Room 14 to have Julianna and Kristopher who happily shared with use their language and culture this week. We also had a number of students who choose to join in with the Nuiean performing group even though this was not their own culture but they support their friends.

Have a look at the wonderful performance for this group you will not believe how amazing the are. Well done Nuiean group and thank you for sharing your culture with us!

Term 4 immersion

This term our theme is Musical Madness. At the beginning of each term the teachers create an item to share with the students and to inspire them for the term to come.

Team three thought long and hard about our item. None of us felt we were amazing singer and we and we wanted to tell and story. So we did what we know....Acting :/ take a look at our lip sync conversation you have to see it to believe it.

2017 Production: Live Stream

This term we have had our school production. Our production was called Live Stream and it was about the local creek and how it has been polluted making it uninhabitable for some local creatures.
A small group for students from Room 14 were in the production these children were, Hendrix, Le'Shar, Gabby, Keyana and Julianna.

I am so proud of the way they performed over the three nights and so grateful to have been a part of such a wonderful show. Big ups to all the actors and dancers you all worked hard, had a positive attitude and were wonderful to work with. A special thanks to the Penguin and Salmon dancers for all your hard work and practice. 

What an awesome show. Room 14 and Miss Davis are proud of every teacher, parents and most of all students who help or watch the show.

Making New Friends

This year we have been writing to Mrs Belts year 3 class in Rotorua. We each have a Pen friend who we sent our letter off to. This week we received our replies. Room 14 were so excited to hope their letters and read what their pen friends had to say.

 After opening their letters the eagerly wrote their replies to their buddies. We hope our new friends enjoy their letters as much as we have enjoyed ours.

Our Planet and Beyond

Today we had an exciting opportunity to learn from a real scientist. He came to our school to share with us his knowledge about the solar system. We had load of fun learning from him and exploring the images that he had to share with us.
