Art Works Assembly

 In term 3 our school theme is Art works. On Monday we had a big assembly with all of the teachers and students from Pt England School called an immersion assembly. 

All the teachers put on a show for us sharing some of the creative arts we would be doing. 

Our team is learning about all kinds of art from Music to dance, drama and of course visual art with painting and drawing to come. We can't wait to have a great term learning how Art Works!

Tiaki taonga award

This year we have a school wide value of Cherish our treasures or Tiaki Taonga. This value is all about caring for the thing, people and opportunities around us. Team 3 have started to give out a weekly award to students who show this value in everything they do. 

It is so wonderful to see children showing respect, care and kindness in everything they do. 

Well Done Aryiana from Room 19. You care about our classroom always keeping it tidy and helping others while being a role model for others. 

 

Week 1 done and the Duffy award goes to...

What a great week, week 1 has been. We have made amazing art, created written our blog about me, learned some statistics and made our self portraits. 

Mrs Carruthers has loved getting to know us all and we know it was a hard job choosing who to give this weeks Duffy award to. 

This weeks Award goes to Eli. He has been a superstar in Room 19 starting off the year with a great attitude and showing respect and kindness to others. You are a great help in Room 19 Eli. 

Our First Assembly

It has been a great first week back at Pt England school. We have all leapt into learning and we are excited to be sharing our learning journey with you.

Today we have our first whole school assembly of the year. Assembly at Pt England School is always fun and a time to share the successes we have had.




Congratulations to our 2019 Prefects, House Captains and The first Duffy award winner of the year. We also welcomed many beautiful new entrant children to our school and it was lovely to see their beautiful smiling faces. We also want to welcome all the new children of any age.
WELCOME TO PT ENGLAND EVERYONE!

It is also a time for Te Korero o te wiki. This week marked an important day in New Zealand History with the country remembering Waitangi day and the Treaty that played such a huge role in forming the country we live in. However we must remember that the Treaty is part of our everyday life and this was our Korero this week.

The 3 P's of the Treaty of Waitangi, Participation, Partnership and Protection.
