Making Kites

This term we have a Matariki and Technology focus. As part of this focus we are testing a range of materials to make kites.

For our first task our teacher gave us some materials and we had choose and make a kite with very few instructions.

Here is Suades presentation

We had lot's of fun making these kites but found that they would not fly on their own. We had to run with them to make them fly.

  1. Kia ora Room 14 and Suade,
Thanks for sharing your presentation about kite making. I remember making kites when I as at school. We used bamboo and I can remember it was too heavy and didn't fly well at all. Sometimes when I am at the beach I see people flying kites REALLY high - I think some people have a good knack for flying! Was it a windy day when you tried to fly your kites? I see it is your first time ever making a kite Suade, maybe next time you will have more success and your kite will fly for longer. Thanks for sharing.

  2. Hi Suade,

I love your presentation about kite making! This activity looks really fun and it is great to see you thinking about what you will do differently next time. Can you think of anything else that you could change?
