Go for Gold

In Term three the Pavilion children learnt about the Olympics. We enjoyed learning about sport and it got us thinking about working hard so one day we can go for gold at the Olympics.

Our Presented introduced the movie like this:

Remember how we learnt about the Olympics last term.
Yes. Why?
Well, I have decided I’m going to be an Olympian.
Really? What kind of Olympian?
I’m not sure yet, but whatever I do I’m going to work hard and Go for Gold!

Today we opened our ginger beer and something amazing happened it went everywhere take a look.

This term our inquiry focus has been Ch Ch Ch Ch Changes. In this inquiry we have been exploring changes of matter. The Pavilion children have been exploring the changes of matter that occur when cooking. 

Our first big experiment was looking at what happened during the process of making Ginger Beer.

The impossible bridge

This week the Batman Reading group have been reading a book called the impossible bridge. The story is about children building a range of bridges to solve problem. The boys were then challenged to work together to create two bridges from the book Together. 

Below is Qwanelle's Blog post about this learning. 

We read the impossible bridge and made two bridges.

What we found out… We found out that the triangle bridge  bent in the middle.

Problem...We had to make it strong.

What we did... was we had to make triangles and sellotaped the triangles on to the cardboard.

Problem… was the bridge kept falling.

What we did… we cut it in half and then we folded it 7 times and the other half was put on top.

What we found out...we found out that it kept falling but the lego was strat.
